Week 13: This is the Weirdest Place (Hastings)

What an eventful week it was here in the hood! Gotta love this place!

Thursday was a very early morning. We woke up at 5:15 to head out to Oxshott for interviews at presidents house. After the 3 hour journey we had a really good time at their home. We had some good food and it's always fun being around all the missionaries in our zone. After a fun spiritual day we made the journey back home and headed straight to the chapel for the youth activity! It was lit...literally. sister Evans, the young womans President, made a cake for elder Tollestrups birthday and we played games!

Friday was a crazy day! Elder Aguiar, one of our AP's, came on exchange with us! It was sweeeetttt. We found 8 new friends in one day! We met this guy named Alex who wanted us to tell him everything on the street. After about an hour we set up another appointment for Saturday at 5 A.m..... he said he wanted to prove a point and if we were serious we would be there!

Fast forward to Saturday. We woke up at 4:45 and ran to the park to meet him. We got there and started talking and then his friend showed up and we taught both of them! They're both 19 so it was sick just talking to some guys my age. They both accepted dates for June 9th! It was quite a long day because we were so tired from that and Thursday, but worth it. We also did some service again for a lady named Soraya who we are really trying to work with. She loves to talk and that's all that really happens...we work she talks.

On Sunday Soraya and Alex came to church! Oli came but got too nervous and took a nap under a tree out front instead. After a very weird testimony meeting we went out front and taught Alex and Oli some more. They are very into science and want physical proof but we'll get there.

On Monday we went to our ward mission leader house to help out for a little bit in his garden...or so we thought. We ended up helping him for the entire day! It took spook long, but luckily it was so warm and sunny out! It's been beautiful weather here!! Monday night we had a DA at the Hobbs, who are the most normal people here, and had a BBQ out in the back garden. It was sooooo yummy and nice out! A great day to be outside!

On Tuesday we met with the other Oli on the seafront and taught him. He's not really taking it seriously which Is hard but we'll still trying. Hopefully he'll be able to figure it out soon that he needs this. We had another DA at the Meachams house and had another BBQ out back! After that they took us to ward council which was actually normal for once.

Today we did some shopping and got haircuts. Now we're playing basketball on the beach with our district enjoying the sun while it lasts!

Week 1 of the blitz is in the books! One of my favorite things so far is seeing all the warnings given about the coming of Christ and how all of those prophecies were fulfilled! It's crazy how specific the prophecies were and the people were warned! Now the struggles of 2 Nephi begin, but if we can make it through this together it's smooth sailing haha!

I'm looking forward to skyping on Sunday!!!!!!!!! I love you all and miss you guys sooo much! Hope you're enjoying the amazing weather back home and the sanity of America!

With love,
Elder Hruby

***Ben sent an additional email about an hour later at the end of his P-day.......He said they were taking a group picture with all the missionaries that had been playing volleyball when a big bus drove by and threw large amounts of ketchup all over them.  He said, "best day of my life".....will make for a super story for forever.
