Week 24: One Big Happy Family (Hastings)

Man time is such a weird thing on a mission. This week felt so long, yet I can't believe it's already Monday again!

Last Monday we spent all day just hanging out on the beach catching some sun and chilling with our district! I definitely got lucky with the missionaries I'm serving with. We're all one big family who get along so well. Nothing but happy times with them!

Wednesday was filled with lots of manual labor! We moved over 11,000 pounds of rocks from the front garden to the back patio for a member who is remodeling his back patio! Man did my back feel it for the next couple days... was a good workout to say the least. Plus I got to work on my tan;)

Thursday was so amazing! We had Interviews with President and sister Checketts... they are literally the greatest people I have ever met! I have so much respect for them and love! It was so great getting to know them more and learn about their lives. I'm happy I'll get to know them a lot more in the many months to come!

Sunday was a miracle day! While welcoming people to church our former friend Luke showed up...yes the mentally insane one! But it was so unexpected and he stayed for all 3 hours!!! It was a proper miracle. And then another guy who came with a friend the last 2 weeks is going to meet with us Wednesday and he seems sooo solid!!! Pray for Innes!!!!

I love this blessed land of Hastings and all the joys being here brings! I love the ward and all the crazy people I've met. I love my companion, the other elders, and my district as a whole. I've gotten so lucky and know that Heavenly Father is looking out for me! I know the church is true and the book is blue! I love you all so much and miss you like crazy. Have a blessed week!!!!

Also my challenge for you this week is to call the missionaries up and take them out for a Snow cone! I know I'm dying in the heat and I'm sure they are as well! I know it will be much appreciated!!Send me a pic once you do it;)

Week 23: I'm in love I'm in love and I don't care who knows it! (Hastings)

Wow... life is so amazing. Another beautiful week here in the most beautiful place (well not really, but let's pretend it is) on earth!

It was a pretty chill week! Not too many crazy things that happened this week. One awesome miracle was that our recent convert, Zoe, came to all 3 hours of church this week for the first time! It was so awesome and she loved It! The ward is really helping her out and I'm so happy for her and the future she has ahead!

Maidstone came on exchange Friday to Saturday and it was a party. We did service all day Saturday and it was nice to be out in the sun! We got some nice tans that's for sure. After a very long day of working hard we took our dinner time to just hang on the beach and enjoy the sunset. It was a beautiful evening and made me realize how much love i have for being her with the people I'm with and the people I've met throughout these months. Heavenly father definitely has a plan for us and I'm learning to love every minute of that plan and all those people he blessed us with!

I'm so lucky to be a missionary here in Hastings and wouldn't trade it for anything. The big man is blessing me in so many ways I can't even begin to explain. I've never been happier before in my life. I think today is one of the best days of my life! I love my heavenly father and know he wants nothing but the best for us.

Thanks for all you do and the support given! Love YOU all so much!!!

With love,
Elder Hruby

Week 22: LONDON πŸ”₯πŸ€™πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ (Hastings)

Aww man life just keeps getting better and better! I Also feel like an old man due to all the service we are doing!

The fourth of July was great. You can't really bear celebrating it with great people in the greatest country in the world, but celebrating it in the land who lost is definitely a close second!!! We did about six hours of service for a member of straight manual labor! We move literally over 2 tons of weight. I could feel it the next day in my back for sure. After that we headed to Tunbridge Wells for a bbq with an American family there. It was sick! Some nice hot dogs, music, and sparklers haha.

Then the fun began! We went to Hyde park Thursday to meet the beast himself President Checketts....he's so sick. He's such a stud and I can tell ya I already love him. He called the whole mission yesterday and basically told us We had to watch the world cup game on Wednesday!!!! How sick is that?!?! After we met with him my district spent the rest of the day getting to explore London. We went to all the places...London eye, Buckingham palace, big Ben, and many others! It was the coolest day. Im just out here strolling around London no big deal.

Speaking of the world cup...its been so insane here and it's just going to get crazier. It's so much fun to be a part of. They broadcast it in the town centre and people go crazy the entire time ! As they say "IT'S COMING HOME! ITS COMING HOME! ITS COMING, FOOTBALL IT'S COMING HOME!!!!" Pray for them to make it to the finals haha!!!

Saturday there was a stake activity and it was called the hoe down! It was as close as England could get to country. They had a band and some really good food! There was lots of dances and line dancing and you already know elder Epperson and I joined in with that! It was a darn good time

I'm constantly wet. I wake up sweaty, leave our burning flat sweaty, come back sweaty, and go to bed sweaty. It's fetching humid here and this country doesn't believe in A.C.! It's so much fun

I've never been so tired than I am now, but Robbie and I just have too much together all day everyday so I can't complain.

I love serving here with the people I'm serving with! I love the book of Mormon and all the power and truth it has! God is a God of miracles and is truly blessing me with great people and memories! I love you all and hope you have a great week! Catch the boys bringing the cup home πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Week 21: Living My Best Life (Hastings)

Gotta love the short weeks!

Well this last week has all been focussed on James and Zoe and making sure everythting was good for them. Saturday was a very stressful day, but I got to baptize both James and Zoe! It was so amazing! There were so many missionaries there as well which was really nice!

After the baptism we went and got kebabs to celebrate and then ate them on the beach it was such a fantastic day that's for sure!

On Sunday they both got confirmed! Zoe even got up and bore her testimony in church and it was one of the most spiritual meetings I've ever been in before! They are so freaking awesome!!!!

We met with our old friend Luke again and he said he's all in this time for working towards baptism on July 28th so pray for Luke! Life is so fetching great here in Hastings and I love it so much here in Hastings with elder Epperson! We're too close after only 6 days it's dangerous but gotta love it. Going to be the best transfer of my mission by far! God is truly a God of miracles and he's looking out for me!

I love you all so much and hope you have a fantastic week! God bless the greatest country to ever exist πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Week 20: The Start of Something New (Hastings)

Well life is just absolutely splendid here in beautiful Hastings! The weather is gorgeous and this next transfer is going to be the time of my life!

This whole week was filled with lots of goodbyes as elder Tollestrup was saying bye to members and Investigators. It was a sad time, especially yesterday morning as we departed ways... but it's on to the next thing now. I welcomed in my beautiful new companion elder Epperson!

Our whole district went to Maidstone to welcome here and man oh man is this transfer going to be a party. We all get along so well and me and elder Epperson are already having too much fun! He's a funny dude and we click very well so I'm super stoked for that! On top of that Zoe and James both passed there baptismal interviews and are golden to be baptized on Saturday!!!!! It's going to be so amazing!!!!

Well the mission changes officially as of July 1st and then I'll be in the London mission! During the meantime I'll be having p day on Mondays starting July 2nd so that's a big change, but then it'll be up to President checketts to decide what he wants. Hopefully it'll go back to Wednesdays in the near future

I'm jacked for this first week with elder Epperson it's literally already been like the best time with him and it's only going to get better! Nothing but great times ahead on this side of the pond! Pray hard for Zoe and James that all goes smoothly this weekend!

Well I love you all and hope you are enjoying the heat! Have a fantastic week!!!!

Elder Hruby

Week 19: HELLOOOO LONDON (Hastings)

Wow well let me just tell you about how crazy things are!

Our friends James and Zoe are both going to be baptized on the 30th!!! They are so great and so solid. So much has changed in a little over a week! Like the time and everything is set up for the baptism! It's like legitimately going to happen and I'm so stoked.

Crazy story about Zoe... last week when we went to teach her she told us she had a dream about her baptism! Not only that she went on to say that I was baptizing her the dream and then went on to ask me if I would do the honors for her baptism!!! How crwaxh is that?!?! I was so happy! It's going to be so great! She's the best!

Now moves just came out and I get to stay in the blessed land of Hastings! Unfortunately elder Tollestrup is getting moved out west and will become part of the Birmingham mission! I'm becoming the district leader now with a new companion named elder Epperson! All I've heard is how great he is so I'm really excited. It's going to be so great. Now I know for sure I'll be a part of the London mission starting on July 1st. Life is so good and I know the big man is looking out for me up above! I'm so excited to get to help lead my district into great things...jk they already are great!

Life is great across the pond and I miss you all dearly. I hope you have a great week!

With love,
Elder Hruby
